What a week. It has been a long week. Let me tell you. Not much has really happened which may be the cause of it being a long week. But the things that did happen... some of them were just stupid. So i will start with the least stupid and move to the end of the week!
Number 1 and the Funniest
1. This is probably the funnies thing that has happened this week. We went to an investigator is progressing fairly well, but he hasn't been reading. So we asked him if he had read. He said ya.. Little by little then picked up his Hilagaynon copy of the Libro ni mormon and i said what do you remember from what you read. He opened it and said "I read about the testimony of the three witnessess... Let it be know..." so i said thats way good, and i took the book of mormon to look at it so he couldn't read while talking and then i said... "What else do you remember?" so he picked up the Tagalog copy and did the same thing.... It was so funny so i just said "Brother Ads, To me it seems like you haven't been reading..." He said I read i just didn't understand it... The moral of the story is. You can tell when somebody doesn't read if they read right in front of you. We laughed way hard.
Number 2 A way cool Family
2. We found this way cool family. We were just walking around one day and talking to people when we talked to this 17 year old kid. He was just sitting there in his house so we asked if we could talk to him a minute about God. He said sure. So we taught him about Joseph Smith. After a little while his mother walked in and unlike other mothers she didn't just immediatly leave. but she sat down and Chatised the other kids who weren't listening. In the end we invited them to go to church. No bear in mind we found them saturday and one days notice is not that much. They said they would go with us. so we set to go pick them up. Sure enough sunday comes around we pick them up and there they are. Ready to go. We are hoping they will be baptized on April 23. We will see how things turn out. Pray for them.
Number 3 Stupid Catholics
3. This is one of the ones that made me mad. Just some stupid lady being Catholic.On tuesday we talked to a guy and taught him and set up a return apointment. We go back on saturday and he didn't come to the door but his wife did. She comes out and says what do you want. we just told her we wanted to talk to her husband. and she just went off on how we needed to show respect to others and their religion. She was way mad and just flew off the handle at us. We had barely said two words two her. She got way mad and said we really needed to just start showing respect.. ya we should probably follow her example. right? so left very nicely. Just saying "Okay Thanks for your time" but in our minds it was more like... wow... how can your heart be so hardened... I really dislike people like that. It was stupid.
Number 4 and by far the one that made the least amount of sense...
4. So yesterday we were at church. and we got there and were talking to our ward mission leader... We were corolating our work with him. When one of the members who is an ex stake president came and told us we needed to come to preisthood. We told him we couldn't because we were talking to Brother Larry and waiting for our investigators... So after 15 minutes at about 9:30 (Church started at 9) we sent in larry to class. While we continued to wait. And then after another 15 min at 945 we went in. we got into preisthood, and they hadn't started the class... i asked what we were doing and the Ex Stake president said. Class was supposed to start 45 minutes ago and when i told you to come in you wouldn't come. so we didn't have class to day.... I mean what can i say to that... Not to mention the CURRENT stake presdent... His 2nd Councilor... AND a High Councilman were all sitting there in the room while this guy was bad mouthing us... i just kinda sat there and then later explained to the Current Stake president what really happened. Later last night we found out the the Ex stake president had told the Current stake president that he was destroying our ward... so now that Ex Stake President is also an EX TEACHER OF THE PREISTHOOD its kinda sad. But it just didn't make sense... i'm not sure what his problem was but i wasn't very happy with him.
So other than that our week has been great. We got alot of teachings and got alot of work done. Just hopefully this area can continue to progress. Wish us luck and pray for the members here. Thank you for all you support!
