Hey Everyone!
Well first off Happy Easter!!! and for everyone in the Philippines Happy Holy Week!!!! and let me tell you.... i don't like Holy Week.. Its a Holiday where all the Catholics get together and celebrate the week of the Saviors death... Its just really sad... They remember everything but one of the most important parts... The Resurection.. We have a calander. They have Holy Thursday, Good Friday... Thats it... not even Easter Sunday... The first of this week was absolutely Terrible.. only 5 teachings in 4 days... THat was terrible. No one wanted to listen. They were all to busy because it is holy week, but on saturday, we kicked it into high gear and got 7 teachings in one day. I was way tired after that. On sunday we had church. we had a couple of talks about the savior. But nothing much more.. we didn't really do anything for easter... Just a normal day like all the others. We were going to color eggs... =) but we didn't have any color stuff. So we changed our minds. But we did boil some eggs. We were going to take turns hiding them, but figured they would be better if we just ate them with some noodles. So that is what we did.
So our success this week was with the Abibiason Family. They came to church this sunday even though it was raining!! we were so excited when we saw them get of the jeep. It was cool cause this is the first time we have had investigators at church for almost six weeks. Are ward didn't know how to deal with them. But it went really well. They made some good friends. So i think they will be back next week. Chris-Jon (the 12 yr old) is way awesome. He reads everyday, and even takes notes on what he reads. He is going to be a way awesome member. The Problem is he can't get baptized unless his mom does as well.. and she isn't progressing very well.. She wasn't there yesterday. So we will be going to teach them tomorrow. Wish us luck!
On friday... The biggest day of Holy week... we waited on the side of the road for over an hour to get a ride to where we would be teaching for the day it was terrible. I didn't think we were ever going to get there, and that we would have to walk the 3 or 4 kilometers to where we were planning on working... All in all i don't like Holy week.. It wasn't my favorite week of the mission. Luckily i never have to deal with one again!!! last year it was my first weekend in the philippines that was interesting... In some of the areas here there were actually people crucifying themselves... i'm glad i wasn't in any of those areas... Well that is about it for this week!!!
