Well this week has been pretty good. not a whole lot has happened compared to usual... but in the life of a missionary a lot has happened. This week started out with a surprise... My replacement showed up... so now i'm training him... It made me remember the day that i came into the office and i just was a amazed that that was almost 6 months ago... It was just a weird feeling. Anyways, so he got here on Monday, His name is Elder Gardner. He was in the MTC with me. So we are Batch. Its way fun being companions with someone i knew in the MTC and seeing the difference's in our missions. He is a way nice guy but he is having a hard time so far. I really didn't realize how much i do... until i had to start teaching someone else to do it. Its just all Second Nature Now. So anyways Tuesday i got permission from Elder Potter to buy 2 new refrigerators and take them to some way far away areas so we spent the morning buying the refs and then took off up the mountain. Mt Canlaon... (Its a Volcano). First we had to go to a place called Hinigeran to drop of Elder Mariner and Clavacilla and Elder Reyes. It was a good ride. They slept most of the way. After that we finally headed up the mountain. We went to a place called Moises Padilla. It is one of the furthest areas away. (I get to go to alot of those) When we got there. The elders were not at their appartment... So we went to find the Tagiya (Owner) we found out she wasn't home but would be soon... so we waited for her... she got there but she didn't have the keys. The Elders had borrowed it and not returned it, but the Branch President had a key so we could go talk to them (The branch president had a key because they don't have a chapel. They just use the apartment as their church house) We took a trike to go get talk to the Branch president when we got there we found out he didn't have a key. so at this point Elder Gardner had to go to the bathroom.. I waited talking and getting to know the branch president. He is a way nice guy. I would love to be assigned in that area. In the end we decided to go back to the apartment and try to break it. When we got back i decided just to try my keys to the office.... Luckly enough one of the keys opened the door!!! i was so surprised. So we got the new ref in the apartment and took the old one. all before the elders came home. We came out of the apartment closed the door and i tried the key that opened the door again.... It didn't work... i don't know how we got in but i'm sure glad that we did. we could have been there all night. So after that we had to go back to a town called La Carlota. There we got dinner. Jolly Bee (like the philippino mc Donalds) after that we headed for San Enrique to drop of the second ref. we got that one and delivered it okay i was just way tired by this point cause i was doing most of the work. and i hit my head on a pole while we were carrying the ref up the stairs. After we left San Enrique (With to old refs in the back of my truck) we were driving along and then with no warning the road decides to drop by 11 inches about 15 feet in front of me. We hit it pretty hard despite my efforts to slow down and we including the Ref's were pretty shaken up.... So we got out of the car just to check but there was no damage.... We were VERY lucky!! Finally we made it back into Bacolod by like 9:30 with still more work to do because i have to train Elder Gardner to do everything that i do. On Wednesday we had lots planned to get done, but didn't really get that much done... it was not the best day. Elder Potter and Elder Albert Went to Cadiz to fix an appartment problem. and while they were up there, the mission van broke. so they took a bus back while we tried to find a way to get it fixed. finally we decided to get it done the next day. Well the next day starts. (Thursday) and they decide to take Elder Gardner with them. So i had no help to get all my work done... haha. and he didn't get to learn how to do it. but hey that ok =) it will just be no fun for him in a week and a half when he doesn't know how to do it =) just kidding. he is learning way fast. So Saturday we had planned to go down to La Carlota to deliver some beds to the Sisters apartment... I was going to teach Elder Gardner where some of the apartments were but he decided to get sick =) so he didn't get to have any fun by driving =) so i went down with Elder Sumo. We baught Cinnimon Rolls and took them down for Elder Hamblin (he is about to go home) took the furniture to the sisters and then left to go back to bacolod. Half way back the sisters in Pulupandan texted me and said (Kari Ka Di, Wala na kami preisthood sa baptism namon, COME HERE WE DON"T HAVE ANY PREISTHOOD AT THIS BAPTISM) so we rushed off for Pulupandan. getting there just in time to see that the person doing the baptism was not wearing a white shirt... so we told him he had to change, but he didn't have one... so i let him borrow mine... after the baptism i put the wet shirt back on got thanked and told i was the first elder to attend a baptism in that area for over 6 years. it was way funny. One guy asked me if we were the Assistants there checking up on the area. It was pretty funny. Then sunday Elder Gardner was sick so we had to sit in the Apartment all day... Not to much fun. but i did get a chance to do some reading. And then at night we went and taught one lesson.
Anyways, This week went overall very well. but now its getting close to the end of my time in the office... Its kinda sad but hey i have alot to look forward too. Maybe i will get to train and maybe i will be back in the office later in my mission. You never know... =)
